Boracay!!!

BORACAY is one of the famous place in the Philippines especially during summer! Everyone knows this place because of its popularity! Boracay is famous because of their WHITE SAND that's why even people from other countries were very amazed.

My Experience:

So I got a plane ticket (from manila to kalibo) in AirAsia  and will be in NAIA Terminal 4 also known as Manila Domestic Terminal (oldest Terminal). So the ticket was not on sale so I got it for P2000 and if you're gonna use a credit card then there will be card fees that you need to pay. So for P2000 plane ticket. I paid P2300 in total since i used a credit card. But if you dont want to pay for the credit card fees then you can pay it in cash in 7-eleven.

So how to get there?

If you are from north, you just have to ride in MRT going to Taft Avenue or Pasay. Once you're there, you can go at the back of Mcdonalds (left side) and there is a shuttle going to NAIA Terminal 4. While they makes round of collecting the fare which, up to now, is only Php 20, dont forget to tell them that your destination is in Manila Domestic Airport. Once you're there, you can just wait for your departure time.

So, here we are! Arriving in Kalibo Terminal. Outside of the terminal, you will notice a lot of people who will offer a package (normally a trip going to boracay island, a place to stay and their activities). You have to be wise with this because some of them are expensive. So we only asked for a trip going to boracay island because its kinda expensive if we will include accommodations and tours. So someone offered us a trip going to boracay for P200, He has a good offer because we already talked to 5 person and they said that the last price would be P300 going there. Well, its nice to know that someone offered us for only P200. What makes us happy is that we are the only passenger of the van that he was driving. We were thinking that maybe the reason why he only ask for P200 pesos is we area pack of 7 and will be much easier for him instead of taking different passengers with different destination.

So according to the driver, it will take 2 hours for us to get CATICLAN and mentioned that we need to take a boat going to the Island of Boracay. So when we get there, the driver dropped us to the boat terminal going to the island. So we paid P100 for their environmental fee and P200 for the boat itself.

So it took us 30minutes to get to the Island. After that, you will need to take either a tricycle or a van going to the beach (which is the most exciting part). Since there's only 7 of us. We only took 2 tricycles for us instead of the van (just only take a van if you already have accommodation because they will drop you exactly on your hotel). So the trip going to the beach only took us for 15 minutes, and when we were there, the first that we did is to find a place to stay. So i got this information from a friend NEVER GET AN EXPENSIVE HOTEL. Well i get the point because you're NOT gonna stay in your hotel for that long. You would rather be outside and enjoy the beach instead of staying in a hotel. So while we were walking, we saw a group of people who offers accommodation. So we talk to this lady and we ask for a place to stay, she mentioned (which station do you prefer?) and we were like ( What do you mean?) So that moment she knew that it's our first time. So she explained that there are 3 stations in Boracay. They have STATION 1 which is the elite, expensive but the most beautiful station. Usualy almost all of the beautiful hotels and expensive restaurant are in the station 1. And then she mentioned STATION 2 where almost all the bars and good buffet are on there. (By the time she mentioned the bars and buffet i already know what to choose), So station 2 is not expensive compare to station 1. This is almost the mid class people stays at. and good thing about station 2 is you are in the middle part of the island/beach so much easier to just look around. Lastly is the STATION 3, this station doesnt really have that much compare to station 1 and 2. This is the cheapest station among 3, But almost all of the activities happens is station 3 because all the boats are there where they can take you to different islands (depends on the tour). So explaining of the stations, we chose to look for a place to stay in station 2 because its not too far from station 3 for activities and near to station 1 where we can buy good stuff.

So she helped us and was able to look for a place almost beach front and in front of a bar. The name of the place where we stayed in ENRICOS. Its kinda popular in station 2 because of its convenience. We got a good price compare to others. We took 2 rooms and will only pay P500 each per day.

So the room looks very awesome. there are 2 beds in a room with wifi and tv. The bathrooms look very nice as well and what we really love about the room is that we have a veranda! So when we paid the rooms, we also gave P200 for the lady who helped us.

So now, We look for a place where we can eat because we were so hungry. We were looking for a good buffet and we found one in front of the beach. The price is P300 for buffet. They have varieties of dishes like crabs, shrimp, oyster and classic filipino dishes like adobo and menudo and many more. Those are just the highlights of the buffet. So they have a couple of table in front the beach where we can eat.

Eating in front of beach is very entertaining. There are lots of restaurant and drinking bar as well. you'll be enjoying the music of some bands and there are group people doing fire dancing (which is very amazing).

After we eat, we tried to explore the island and you will see a lot of people offering tattoo. It's a bit pricey so you need to negotiate with them to get a cheaper price. Normaly they would as for P500 for a tattoo (depends on the size) but i was able to negotiate with them for P300 only! So me and my friends tried it out and it was worth it!

So its still early for us to rest so we still explored the island. We saw this disco bar (EPIC BAR) in station 2. The music is very upbeat ( more zedd songs and there playing the latest music). So we went inside the bar. Entrance fee is P200, Majority of the people inside were koreans. There are seats available but you would need to pay roughly P6000 (consumable for drinks and food). We didnt take and just stand instead since there were lots of table where you can put your drinks while dancing. Different beers and margaritas are available in this club. We ordered a beer that cost us P100 while other drinks like vodka coke or sprite vodka have the same price like their beers. We party all night and all the people are getting wild that night. Some of them will approach you to dance with them. Well its a bar so just go with the flow! We were so drunk after the party so we decided to go home and rest.

We woke up at exactly 6:00am. We went outside to have our breakfast. When we got to the beach, we were very amaze with the view. Thats where you can see the true beauty of the island. The white sand, the blue ocean and people wearing their swim suit. lol So we took the opportunity to take pictures everywhere. After that, we continue to look for a place to eat and found this burger station. The burgers in the pictures looks tasty so we tried it out and ordered what we want. Again it was pricey and the burger doesnt look like what they really have in the pictures. We ignore it though because we are excited to have some activities. What important is we have something in our stomach.

After we eat, we look for fun activities that we can do. There are people who will offer you different activities, we find it expensive so we ask the others with the same activities with a lower price but unfortunately, all of them have the same price. What was offered to us was island hopping (with cliff diving), Zorb, Flyfish and motorbiking for P2700 per head. We didnt stop until we see a cheaper one. After looking for 30 mins, we finally found someone who offered the same activities but only for P2000. So we grabbed his offer and ask when we can start the activity. He said we can start by 9:00am. We kinda panic because its already 8:30 that time, we immediately go back to our rooms and changed.

We were asked to go to Station 3 for the first activity which is island hopping. The person who offered you those activity will come with you and they will serve as you tour guide as well. The boat was waiting for us and they said they were taking us to the Ariel's point. It took us 30 mins to get to the island. The island was beautiful, but not as beautiful as boracay. The good thing about this is you can do cliff diving  (the destination has five different platforms ranging in height from 3 meters to 13 meters) and snorkeling.  So we only diving on the smaller one because not all of us were good swimmers. Most of the people diving at the highest platforms were foreigners. While diving on the platform, you can ask your tour guide to take pictures for you. We stayed there for an hour and after that we were asked to go back to the boat because they were taking us to the spot where we can see different kinds of fishes which is perfect for snorkeling.  When we get to the spot, we were given out our snorkeling thing and will give you a piece of bread to feed the fishes. The school of fishes were very cute. We stayed there for an hour and we head back to the shore for the next activity.

When we get to the shore, our tour guide told us that the next activity will be motorbiking. So we were ask to walk to get to the place where a van is waiting for us to take us to the next activity. We walked at the back side of the island for about 15 mins. When we get to the van, they took us to the motorbiking place and only took us 5 mins to get there.

So after that we were asked to sign to their waiver. I didnt really read what it says there. So after signing. They took us to motorbikes. Usually you can have 2 person in 1 motorbike, but obcourse, everyone wants to drive so we took 1 each for us. Im not sure if all of us knows how to drive a motor bike, but when we tried seems like everyone knows how. There will be a guide ahead of you and we were asked not to overtake because it was a rough road with different slopes. when we start the engine and starts driving, yes they were right the road is very cranky. It doesnt look like a normal road, its more of driving on a mountain. After 20 mins of driving, we were finally on the highway. Thats where we took the opportunity to drive fast (the guide is yelling at us when we do it so please dont :) haha) We stayed uphill and stop for a while to see the view of boracay. Then after 10 mins, we went back to the camp.

After the crazy motorbiking, We went to our next activity which is ZORB. So we took a ride again with the van and took us 15 minutes to get there. So Zorb is like a transparent ball. (see the photos below) So you need to to climb up where the ball is located. Then when you are ready, they will ask you to wear your helmet then they will start pouring water inside the Zorb (1 gallon of water). The Zorb has two layers, so when you get inside (me and my friend) , you wont be able to touch the surface of the ground. I felt like im being suffocated. So they drag us down from the hill and i was really nervous, and we are rolling! The good thing is that since we have water inside the ball, our position is stable and stayed at the bottom (imagine a ball with water inside). Then we fall on the swimming pool. That was indeed a great experience. It may look dangerous but its worth it!.

after Zorb, We went to our next destination which is
